Why We Love This Coffee

This Kirinyaga Peaberry is a classic Kenyan coffee with clarity, lift, and beautiful structure. Juicy citrus and black currant lead the cup, followed by floral aromatics and a refined, tea-like finish.

The peaberry format brings added intensity and sweetness, making this coffee feel vibrant and focused without tipping into sharpness. It’s expressive, elegant, and deeply satisfying.

What Is a Peaberry?

Most coffee cherries contain two seeds. Occasionally, a single round seed develops instead,  known as a peaberry.

Peaberries are denser and tend to roast more evenly, often resulting in:

- Brighter acidity
- Enhanced sweetness
- More concentrated flavor

This is why peaberry lots are so prized, particularly in Kenya.

Origin & Processing

This coffee comes from the Kamwangi washing station in Kirinyaga, part of the New Ngariama Farmers Cooperative Society.

Careful wet processing, access to fresh river water, and high-altitude growing conditions contribute to the coffee’s clean acidity, layered sweetness, and elegant structure. Environmental care is built into the process through water recirculation and responsible waste management.
